Artist Statement
After two decades away from the canvas, I have returned to painting with a renewed sense of purpose—driven by curiosity, intuition, and the sheer joy of creation. My process is fast and expressive, favouring acrylics and oils on large canvases, where bold brushstrokes bring energy to my subjects. I sketch in charcoal, capturing raw movement and emotion before translating them into paint.
I am experimenting with more abstraction, seeking to push beyond representation while first mastering the fundamentals of form and light.
My work spans a wide range of subjects—portraiture, animals, machinery, architecture, and landscapes—all explored with a commitment to light, form, and atmosphere. While some encourage me to work smaller, I find freedom in scale, allowing my gestures to remain loose and dynamic.
Whether painting for pleasure or commission, my goal is to reconnect with my evolving artistic voice—one brushstroke at a time.
